Find your account settings
Open Profile from the account menu. Its sections cover your account details, Security, Display, and account deletion. This is your sign-in account; household profiles and their sharing permissions are managed separately.
Security shows the sign-in providers attached to the account, such as a password or Google, and whether the email address is confirmed.
- 02
Confirm an address or reset a password
Use the verification email to confirm your address. If you use an email and password, the password-reset flow sends a link to set a new password. Complete the action from the email and sign in again afterward.
An expired or already-used link needs a fresh request. If you sign in only through Google, manage that provider’s password through Google. Use the provider shown on your account rather than assuming it also has a MoneyWhatIf password.
- 03
Add an authenticator
Confirm your email before setting up two-step verification (2FA). In Security, begin authenticator setup and complete the requested sign-in check. Scan the displayed QR code with an authenticator app, or enter the setup secret manually, then submit its current six-digit code. This is a time-based one-time password, often called TOTP.
Enrollment is complete only after the code is accepted. At later sign-ins, use the current code from an enrolled authenticator. The page also lets you add another authenticator or remove one after the required confirmation.
- 04
Choose your display preferences
Display settings let you choose light, dark, or system theme and the money-display preference. These change how the app presents your plan.
Changing the display to today’s money does not edit inflation assumptions, account balances, or future cash flows.
- 05
Understand account deletion
The deletion section explains what will be removed and requires the account email plus a fresh identity check. Export any plan files or reports you want to retain before using it.
Deleting the account removes its plans and sign-in, including enrolled second factors. Plans owned by other people remain theirs.

Controls & settings
Check what each control changes and whether it recalculates your forecast.
Sends an account-action email. Complete its link to finish the requested change.
Changes the account’s second sign-in step after verification and confirmation.
Changes presentation preferences across the app.
Starts the confirmed account-removal flow.
Reading the result
Read the results
A setup QR code alone does not mean two-step verification is enrolled; finish the code-confirmation step.
When a code is rejected, use the current code from the authenticator attached to this account. Codes change frequently.
Read the result of an account action before leaving. A network or verification error means the requested change may still need to be completed.

Model limits
Authenticator verification is the second-factor method implemented here; this guide does not imply SMS codes or a recovery-code download is available.
Account deletion cannot be undone. Review its on-screen removal details before confirming.
This guide documents the page as built. The figures on it follow the plan’s own assumptions; none of it is individualized tax, legal, Medicare, or investment advice.
